Research and Development Associate

JOB TITLE: Research and Development Associate

RESPONSIBLE TO: Development Manager


  • Conduct enzyme immunoassay (EIA) research and handle development projects to obtain FDA 510(k) clearance and CLIA categorizations to bring new products to market

* Additional duties may be added as the need arises


  • Prepare drug conjugates for immunoassay development
  • Conduct immunoassay optimizations 
  • Proficiently work on a variety of clinical analyzers 
  • Analyze and interpret data; record methods and results using good documentation practices 
  • Prepare and present technical data summaries for design review and regulatory submission 
  • Present and explain project results at team and project meetings 
  • Effectively organize, prioritize, and plan experiment/work schedule 
  • Assist in the transfer of completed development projects to Production 
  • Participate in, and provide support to, Production team through hands-on troubleshooting and regular communication

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in biology or chemistry related field or equivalent (2+ years of R&D laboratory experience)
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills 
  • Detail oriented, excellent organizational and documentation behavior 
  • Proficient with Internet/e-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint programs are required 
  • Able to work in a cold room periodically, which is kept at 2 – 8°C (35.6 – 46.4°F)

* After hiring, required to provide a vaccination record and confirm current Hepatitis B status and COVID-19 vaccination status


– Knowledge and experience with immunoassay research


– All candidates must give a brief PowerPoint or Google Slides presentation detailing their graduate level thesis work and/or R&D laboratory research 

– 25-30 minute presentation, 10-15 minute Q&A (Total: 35-45 minutes)
